As you have seen from the previous posts about this Tuscan Elegance home, this particular client of Lauren’s has a fine attention to detail and likes each space in her home to be finished properly and with a bit of “oomph”. When they let Lauren know that they would be having their entire family and all twelve grandchildren in town for Thanksgiving, and wanted to make sure there was adequate sleeping arrangements, Lauren knew she was in for a challenge. She had one short month to complete this task, but in reality her client’s only request was to have beds for the kids to sleep in and window coverings for all of the windows. However, Lauren knew it would be an extra special treat if the rooms were completed instead. As the youngest child is now three years old, they decided to remove the crib from one of the guest rooms and create two bunk rooms … one for the girls and the other for the boys. It was no easy feat, but on Thanksgiving Day Lauren’s client was able to surprise her guests with two beautiful bedrooms. With the holidays and everything going on it has been a little tricky to get photos (which is why we are so excited to finally share these spaces with all of you) starting with the boy’s bunk room.

The only thing that was already in this room was the bunk bed and we knew that we needed to do something creative to dress up the space. We decided to create an over-sized map mural (hand painted by our fabulous faux painter, Angel) and painted the niche a nice dusty blue for contrast.

We selected bedding from Restoration Hardware Baby and Child consisting of a nice khaki duvet cover and sheets to match the theme. To complete the look, we came up with a quote to share the overall feeling of the room, passing down the responsibility “to change the world” from grandparents to grandchildren. We love the way the mix of fonts turned out!

We had a custom linen shade made for the window with black out included to keep the room dark at night.

We bet you won’t believe we found this desk at Ikea! We simply couldn’t believe how perfectly it fit this wall and our inspiration for this space. We love the high gloss finish as well! The desk lights just happen to be from Ikea too.

Lauren found a gorgeous photo on Pinterest of ghost chairs with white fur seat covers and knew this was the perfect detail to add some much needed “oomph” to the space. Her client found this gorgeous fur throw at Nordstrom’s and we had it cut and sewn to fit the chairs cascading over the edges just a bit.

We absolutely love how the map wraps around the entire room with the Hawaiian Islands just over the desktop. The compass found above adds one more fun element to the space as well.

We just love how this whole room came together. It followed Lauren’s inspiration board flawlessly and fits well with the old world feeling of the house without being too mature. It is a room their grandchildren can enjoy for years to come and one we are extremely proud of. We will be sharing the coordinating girl’s bunk room on Monday … stay tuned!
