Two brides, two teams, one really fun day in the park …

We generally write about parties that we plan, but every once in a while we attend an event that is just too cute to pass up. Scott’s Aunt Cindy and her sisters did a great job planning her daughter’s “kickball in the park” engagement party. Lauren was honored to be asked to arrange the flowers for this event as these ladies left no details unplanned.

These party guests are taking a break from their strenuous game of kickball. The brides’ team won of course!
April and Judy were in charge of the “mix”. In Scott’s family a party is not complete without it (a mixture of  Chex, pretzels, and other sorts of treats). It was displayed in these adorable pails and smaller pails were set out for each guest to put their mix in. They even set out shovels as scoops. Perfect for a park theme party.
Each guest was given a baseball t-shirt in their team’s color which they proudly decorated with markers and these fun pins.
Purple and yellow flowers to match the color scheme were purchased at the LA Flower Mart. They were arranged in mason jars and a small strip of purple glitter tape was added for a fun touch.
A party in the park is not complete without a red and white checkered tablecloth and a picnic. They even included cute details like these terracotta planters filled with wrapped silverware. The napkins read “Here come the brides, Maddie and Rachel”.
Food trucks have become very popular here in LA. Our lunch was catered by a BBQ truck. It was delicious and much needed after working up an appetite. Scott’s mom, Robyn made the dessert (which Lauren didn’t get any pictures of because she was too busy eating it).

Thanks Maddie and Rachel for allowing us to share this special event in your lives. Congratulations on your engagement. Looking forward to more celebrations in the future.
