Halloween is our absolute favorite time of year to decorate our living spaces. We both love to add glamorous touches to an otherwise spooky scene in our homes (as seen in our past six years of Halloween decor posts: (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016). In preparing to decorate this year, we realized just how truly busy we are and had time to purchase just a few new items, dusted off some of our old favorites, and came up with new (but quick) overall looks. Here’s a peek at how each of us used our different styles to create the right look for our homes and what we have goin’ on this Halloween.

T Side: Man, I didn’t know if I would ever get around to decorating my home this year for Halloween. Life sure does get busy, doesn’t it? … With getting big (pregnant) and working on our annual big Halloween event, my mind has been everywhere but at home decorating. This week, finally, I found a little free time and added just a few rustic touches to our space to make it feel like Fall.

Some burlap and wheat were added in to spruce up our kitchen area.

I put a little more of the burlap scraps I had lying around in my favorite acrylic tray to add texture to our bar.

Our dining table got dressed up for the occasion with three pumpkins (one for me, one for my hubby, and one for our baby-to-be). An over-sized mason jar with a burlap bow and some more wheat finishes off our centerpiece nicely.

Setting the table around my decor this year makes me happy! It’s festive, and fun, and not too over-done. I love it!

L Side: It may seem to the outside world like I have this whole working mom thing under control, but I assure you that is not the case. Most days, I find myself telling my overachieving self that I just can’t do it all. I bought a few fun pumpkins in blush and white on a shopping trip one day to Trader Joe’s and had every intention of decorating my home to follow our Alice in Wonderland theme we are using for our costumes, but this weekend I decided to spend some much needed time with my husband and girls instead, and I am so happy I did.

We headed over to our local pumpkin patch and snapped some cute photos along the way.

The girls had fun picking their own pumpkin and riding around in style.

This is how we do Fall in LA … shorts, boots, and lots of sunshine!

When we got home, we had fun with our pumpkin display and still gave a small ode to the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party. I love the mix of white and blush pumpkins with various textures we bought this year.

As you can see, we each have our own style when it comes to decorating, but we also love to see what each other comes up with. Halloween lends itself to millions of different ways of decorating, so many directions you can go. What is your plan this year? We can’t wait to hear how you decorate your space for Halloween, and of course (as we are very visual gals) we would love to see photos as well. Send them our way!
