I don’t think this event could have fit our design aesthetic and business model more perfectly! Throw in a great theme and the most awesome client / mom, and a day on the job really doesn’t even feel like work! Anyone out there feel like Mother’s Day can sometimes be a bit of a let down? No time to relax? You feel like you are running around trying to make your husband, your kids, and the other mothers in your life happy? Well, our client can relate, and she decided to do something about it. I really can’t think of a more generous and thoughtful thing to do for your friends and fellow moms than to throw them a party!

Hosting an intimate gathering at home is what we are all about! Our hostess was so excited to greet each of her guests at the door, and so was the gorgeous floral arrangement made by none other than Kayla of House of Magnolias!

Here’s another look at these fabulous seasonal blooms!

What a great theme for a luncheon honoring moms … Rosè! We made sure to include hints throughout the decor at this overall theme (cute rose gold foil napkins, lots of pink …

… and so many bottles of Whispering Angel Rosè.

In addition to this signature drink, our bartender for the day (provided by Modern Art Catering) whipped up delicious specialty cocktails (a blushing citrus fizz for those who love tequila and rose syrup lightly infused water with rose petals for those who wanted a non-alcoholic option). So on theme!

Light appetizers were set up on the table outside. Good thing the sun decided to come out!

I am completely obsessed with the taste and presentation of this company’s food! It truly is art!

Lauren and I found a photo (when searching for inspiration for this event) of a similar charcuterie set up with a cut grapefruit on it. We absolutely had to recreate that photo, and this grapefruit was the perfect shade of pink!

Again, Kayla’s flowers in this display stole the show!

It really was the perfect day to sit outside!

A few candles and a lit fire pit set the tone as well!

The ocean inspired buffet (for quick bites or to create a full plate … ‘cuz why not?) included; coconut poached shrimp ceviche salad, petite Spanish lobster rolls, seared salmon, sweet corn griddle cakes, and a salad of butter lettuce, orange, and avocado. Each bite was better than the last!

Here are some close ups for your food viewing pleasure!

Desserts? We had those too! Classic lemon bars, dark chocolate and raspberry mousse shots, fruit tarts with lemon curd, and white chocolate cherry cookies … To die for!

It’s Mother’s Day right? So, moms deserve a little gift! Each guest as she said good bye was presented with a memory of this special day! Yes way Rosè! You better believe these custom bags from the Molly Sims x Rachel Miriam collection were complete with a bottle of rosè and some fresh florals too!

I know I said this already, but I loved every second of working on this special project and am so grateful to have been a part of it! I truly cannot wait to hear what events this client wants to plan next! For more information about our home event services, contact us at info@sbsdesignla.com.
