We are so excited to finally have the professional photos of Ava’s nursery from Erica Leigh Photography, and even more excited to share all of the details that we have worked so hard on with you today. As you can imagine, this project was an incredibly personal one for Lauren and Scott. Every aspect of the room was well thought out and planned to a tee. It was very important to them to make their nursery not only beautiful but functional and sentimental as well.

As Lauren spent the last two years working for AFK designing high end children’s rooms and nurseries, she found herself daydreaming numerous times about what her own nursery would look like. To bring her vision to life, here are the fabrics and inspiration Lauren chose in designing this space.

Purple was “Lauren’s color” growing up and thus the obvious choice for the main color in Ava’s nursery. She chose to include some light yellow details, different shades of white, and a touch of silver to make this otherwise sweet color palette just a little bit edgy.

It was important to Lauren and Scott to incorporate some details in the nursery that are reminiscent of the special women that Ava was named for. The Moroccan pattern on the ceiling and the silver poof are in honor of our Moroccan grandmother.

The Oliver glider was Lauren’s favorite from AFK, and the yellow and white linen pattern she chose added a necessary pop of color to the room. She enjoys rocking her little one to sleep each night in this comfy over-sized chair.

This modern mirrored side table from West Elm was previously found in their living room. It fit so perfectly with the look of this room that Lauren couldn’t resist moving its location. A simple lamp, a small acessory, and a gorgeous vase of fresh hydrangea are the perfect finishing touches.
Lauren fell in love with the look of the new Gramercy crib from AFK and was so excited to be one of the first owners of this gorgeous piece of furniture. She had Ava’s crib upholstered in white faux leather with silver nailheads to dress it up. Her custom made lavender and white linen bedding is just enough casual and a bit preppy with its pleated details.

This adorable pillow was a gift from Ava’s Grammy. It’s a unique way to display the details of her birth. The “lambi from Aunt Tami” was used as decor at her baby shower. We know Ava will love this along with the other sweet lambs in the room.

The framed butterflies made in Craft Club were an ode to the Monarchs Lauren saw throughout her pregnancy. To her, they are a guardian of sorts overlooking her little girl as she sleeps. Other details, such as the whale tissue holder and the signed original drawing of The Little Mermaid in Ava’s bathroom, remind Lauren and Scott of their own childhoods.

This custom designed bookcase was built and gifted by Ava’s grandfather. Lauren added lavender bins as toy storage and some fun accessories to fill the shelves.

This hand painted A was made with love by Ava’s mommy in the colors of her nursery.

The final piece of furniture in the room is this gorgeous dresser (also made by Ava’s grandfather). These beautiful pieces were designed to not only fit the needs of the nursery, but to follow Ava as she grows.
Although this special nursery was designed for their little girl before she was even born, it could not fit her personality any better. It is just enough sweet, a little sassy, and fit for a princess no less. The personal touches make it that much more special, and it truly brings happiness to their home.
