We are so excited to once again share our monthly inspiration with all of you! Each month, we look forward to getting the chance to sit down and really think about what’s inspiring us, make predictions for the month ahead, and reflect on the past month. As usual, we have each selected a photo that represents our overall inspiration and have paired it with two interior shots and two events that coordinate with its color scheme and overall concept. In addition, we have provided you with our designer tips to keep you on trend for the month ahead.

Tami’s inspired: The plans my family has for this month feels like old times (in the best way possible)! We are going to get outside as much as we can, spend time in the pool (We don’t have one, so if you do expect us to be over, wink!), and be with friends we haven’t seen in way too long! I love the 4th of July and the vibe it brings! Mostly, I’m just here for the snacks, but after a global pandemic what we need right now is to be together, relaxed, and carefree! Bring it on, July!

What’s my designer tip this month? Red, white, and relax! Be carefree this month in the way that you dress, entertain, and style your home. Seriously, don’t give one flying F! Life’s too short … I should take my own advice! Usually use fancy dinner plates? Use fancy paper goods instead! Your guests will thank you! Always make your bed? Pull up the covers and throw the pillows on. One day won’t make a difference! Feel like enjoying a drink in the middle of the afternoon. Just do it! Probably best though if it’s a weekend or you’ve taken the day off … Let’s not be totally irresponsible, right?

Lauren’s inspired: This month, my husband Scott and I celebrate our 10 year anniversary! This photo (taken by the amazing Mi Belle Inc.) is still one of my favorites, and I love how it ties in today as we reflect on all the memories we made these past 10 years. It was really important to me when I was planning my own wedding to make it as classic as possible so that I wouldn’t look back on the details and find them super dated. You can’t necessarily tell from this photo, but I think we accomplished just that, and I still wish that I could go back and relive that amazing day!

What’s my designer tip this month? Keep it classic! There are certain styles that truly stand the test of time and certain color stories too. Keeping a timeless feel in your design will make it so that you love your space for longer than just a season and so that you can enjoy photos from an event for years to come. I promise you won’t regret it!

Here at Side by Side Design, we look forward to an exciting month including catching up on sharing all the events we have had recently and one big blog birthday at the end of this month … 10 years (Oh, and a HUGE Happy 10th Anniversary to Lauren and Scott too.)! We are working on some great remodels right now, and are excited to share some sneak peeks into their progress! We’ve been really busy getting back into events and with all of the interior projects we have right now too. We are going to work to do better posting on IG and IG stories @sidebysidedesign so that you guys can see all that we have been working on and will post each project as it finishes here as well.
