We are so excited to once again share our monthly inspiration with all of you! Each month, we look forward to getting the chance to sit down and really think about what’s inspiring us, make predictions for the month ahead, and reflect on the past month. As usual, we have each selected a photo that represents our overall inspiration and have paired it with two interior shots and two events that coordinate with its color scheme and overall concept. In addition, we have provided you with our designer tips to keep you on trend for the month ahead.

Tami’s inspired: Happy (almost) 4th! I find it ironic that at this time of year what I need most is a bit of independence! This #inspo balloon pic represents me getting out for more walks this month, finding a way to get some alone time with my husband, maybe going to a restaurant for the first time in soooo long (if they don’t all close again) … Who knows! The sky’s the limit in our new normal!

What’s my designer tip this month? Red, white and you! Ok, super cheesy, but I mean it! You do you this month! Whatever is making you feel under water needs to be lifted … It’s time to liberate and gain independence. Still have your baby in your room? I do! Time to move them out! Been wanting to host? Have a few friends come over and do the distanced thing (with wine of course!).

Lauren’s inspired: Looks like we are going to be celebrating another thing in quarantine! Scott and my anniversary is this month, and we will be celebrating nine years! I am not 100% sure how we will be celebrating this year, but one thing is for certain we will make sure to honor it in one way or another. I looked up the “traditional and modern gifts” for year nine, and it said pottery and leather. Two of my favorite things to use in my home design, and they work well together too! We are working on some home improvement projects, and who knows maybe I will think of this combo while doing so.

What’s my designer tip this month? Mix materials that are free form with those that are structured! I just love the wood shelf above filled with fun stacks of unique dishes, and those fun fur throws on the leather chairs bring a softness to the space. While planning your events, it’s the small details that count. Try tying napkins off with a thin strand of leather and mixing different sizes and shapes of pottery down your table will create the look I am loving so much right now.

Here at Side by Side Design, we look forward to continuing to keep it real this month from our quarantine to yours … We have some awesome upcoming finished spaces that we can’t wait to show off, new projects that are just getting started, and we are celebrating NINE YEARS of blogging! Can you believe it?! Don’t forget to check out our next Get Inspired post on August 7th for all new looks and inspiration!
