We are so excited to once again share our monthly inspiration with all of you! Each month, we look forward to getting the chance to sit down and really think about what’s inspiring us, make predictions for the month ahead, and reflect on the past month. As usual, we have each selected a photo that represents our overall inspiration and have paired it with two interior shots and two events that coordinate with its color scheme and overall concept. In addition, we have provided you with our designer tips to keep you on trend for the month ahead.

Tami’s inspired: There is something so incredibly special about finally getting the freedom to design events in the way that I see fit! For many years, way before this blog began, our business was even a thought, and the creation of Pinterest took place, I would dream endlessly about fancy parties. I often pulled pictures out of magazines of beautiful design elements to be used for made-up events. Even after I realized that this is what I truly should be doing as a career, it took a while to get to a place where clients trusted me enough to allow me any kind of creative freedom. Of course, every project is different, and I love the feeling of collaboratively working with my clients just as much as I do surprising them with all the awesome details, but I take advantage of the freedom when I can! This month (as we celebrate the “Land of the Free”), I celebrate my chosen career taking on wings and truly taking off to levels I didn’t even know were possible!

What’s my designer tip this month? Create freely! Wanna be seen as a free spirit? Start by combining patterns that are unexpected in your home. Gather pieces of art or other decor from spots all across the globe, and find creative ways to display them in your space. Entertain outdoors whenever you can … and speaking of entertaining, the more layers the better when it comes to designing your dinner party set up! Can’t decide between red or blue cake? Serve them both!

Lauren’s inspired: Each month seems to want to top the last! This month, we are knee deep in planning for a very special 50th birthday party, and I have a few other things I am planning for as well as the big move-in date for my client’s “Modern with Antiques Home”. We have been working towards this move-in for a very long time! On a personal note, Scott and I are sharing our 8th anniversary. Which brings me to my inspiration picture. The traditional gift for an 8th anniversary is bronze or pottery, and I thought this photo fit right in. Although I don’t think we will be gifting each other bronze or pottery this year, we have a lot of home projects we are working on and gifting ourselves, and I am excited to share all the details with you.

What’s my designer tip this month? Find inspiration through something unexpected! The great world wide web can be an amazing resource, and you never really know what you will find when you make your way down that rabbit hole. Type in materials you love for example, and you can come up with something cool like this that will inspire your next home project or your next event.
