Words truly cannot express the feeling I get when I work so closely with a couple, their wedding is complete, and I finally get the pleasure of sharing the details with all of you. This wedding, for me, was the most special! Not only do I think so highly of this couple … They are two of the coolest people I know, are very confident in what they want out of life, and smile through everything they do. I also have known them separate and together, have seen their relationship grow over time, and love and admire the people they have become. Sasha and Mikey are truly an amazing couple and their wedding was something out of a fairy tale. Gindling Hilltop Camp is a magical place. It has been that way for me since I was small. The fact that Sasha and Mikey met there, spent many summers together there, and chose to return to this special place to say “I do” can only be described in one word … Magic!

A couple might choose this location to get married based on this view alone!

However, spending many many summers here allowed Sasha and Mikey the ability to see the full potential Gindling Hilltop Camp (clap, clap) has to offer. They chose to not only get married here but to invite their closest friends and family to spend the entire weekend up at camp and partake in their favorite camp activities such as sports, arts and crafts, ropes course, and even a campfire complete with s’mores. Shout out to Fulcrum Adventures for taking the Bride and Groom to new heights just hours before they said “I do”.

After the day’s activities, Sasha went back to her “cabin” to get ready. What a gorgeous Bride she was in her Sarah Seven dress and a little “something blue”. A simple side-swept braid by The Loft Hair Studio and make-up by Saida Staudemaier were both understated and oh so classy.

Mikey has always had a style of his own, and it showed so well on his wedding day! A special touch … the collar of Mikey’s suit jacket was stitched with the date he would marry his beautiful Bride.

A private moment was shared just before they were whisked off to take about a million photos …

… Obviously these photos speak for themselves, but I would love to take a moment to give a huge shout out to the woman who captured these moments. Ro of Les Loups Pictures and Songs was beyond amazing to work with, has a gorgeous personality, and a true creative eye!

From here, it all went so quickly … The couple were announced by Rabbi Todd Silverman to their closest family members as husband and wife in the Jewish tradition as they signed the ketubah.

The Bride’s brother, Darrow, led the “Shabbat Stroll” to the chapel as the couple has done many times over their years at camp, but this time for a whole new purpose.

The chuppah was beautifully decorated by Hope Sword of Pigsty. She proudly announced as she was weaving these vines through its branches that she had stopped on the way up the Malibu hillside to “forage”. Love it!

I had the opportunity to share a special moment with this Bride right before she walked down the aisle. I will never forget how excited she was and how ready to finally marry her man! P.S. Isn’t this bouquet stunning?

This ceremony brought all guests to tears starting with the way Mikey met Sasha in the middle of her walk down the aisle to guide her the rest of the way …

… the circling of each other symbolizing their bond …

… and the beautiful words that their officiant and friend shared!

The crowd cheered as they both stepped on the ritual glass and shared their first looong kiss as husband and wife!

Looking back on this wedding gives me so much joy! Growing up at this camp myself, allows me to truly understand why Sasha and Mikey chose this as their venue. It is the place in the world where they feel most like themselves. The staff at Gindling Hilltop Camp was beyond incredible to work with and helped us bring this couple’s vision to life. I feel blessed as well that I had the opportunity to work closely with Sasha throughout the planning process who was extremely organized and knew exactly what she wanted every step of the way. Ok, ok, I can go on forever, but I know I need to keep some details for Wednesday. Check back in to see part two of this magical feature.
