To say that this year has been a weird and challenging one would be an understatement! It has changed the way that we celebrate, and I am surprised to find myself embracing it. I wanted to come up with something a little different for my oldest daughter’s birthday this year than the “drive by” concept we have all been seeing, and thought it would be fun for us to do the driving around instead. It ended up working out great, gave Ava a chance to talk to each of the friends she “invited”, and gave us something to do. We then culminated this with a Zoom call with the whole group of girls to sing “Happy Birthday”, eat our treats, and the girls had a blast coming up with fun games to play and activities to do! I am proud of Ava for embracing this as well. She loves being the “host” on Zoom calls so this was right up her alley, but I think this taught her a good lesson as well … It should feel as good to give as it does to get. Take a look at how we celebrated:

Ava was so excited to get her very own surprise Birthday in a BOX delivery from Aunt Tami with all the best JoJo Siwa swag!

What was inside? A JoJo Siwa bow of course, party plates, a fun foil balloon, cute banners, a birthday candle, and new pajamas to wear for her night activity.

Introducing “in a BOX minis”! Mini versions of our Birthday in a BOX that can be used as fun party favors (with a cupcake or other gift items) or deliveries for social distanced parties.

I decided to go with mini versions of our cream + sugar cake so that each girl would have a treat to enjoy in this untraditional setting. We purchased custom JoJo Siwa stickers commemorating the birthday girl and topped each box with a signature JoJo Siwa bow.

As I mentioned, we hand delivered each mini (from a distance of course). It was so fun to see so many of Ava’s friends, and the girls could hardly wait to dig in!

We were so excited to set up all of the contents from our Birthday in a BOX. I created the balloon arch the night before, added the awesome mylar star for one more fun touch, and the banners below were perfection!

After dinner, I quickly cleared the table while Ava got in her JoJo jammies and reset it for dessert and the Zoom party.

Ava’s ready to Zoom!

Another amazing cake by cream + sugar. I swear she outdoes herself every time!

Did you really think the inside wouldn’t explode!? It was just delicious as it was beautiful!

Happy 7th birthday Ava! I love you so much and enjoyed celebrating with you! Thank you for finding fun in this new strange tradition and for always being the sassy, confident, and beautiful girl that you are!
