Sometimes you just need a good old styled shoot to throw you back into event mode after a pandemic! No, but seriously, this shoot was already about a month ago, and I don’t think I have stopped moving ever since. I am happy though to take the time today to share the details with all of you because it really was such a magical day in a most beautiful location with a group of talented, diverse mama entrepreneurs! What more could I ask for?

Hidden Garden LA is a hidden gem of a venue located in the West Adams Historic District here in Los Angeles. You should seriously consider hosting any event in this space. Its restored greenhouse is the perfect backdrop to any tablescape or wedding processional (see photo below), and check out all of this beautiful landscaping. I am obsessed!

You all know I am a sucker for gorgeous linens, and BBJ Linen has the very best selection! I chose this sultry pink silk for our tea party set up and can’t say I am mad at all about how it elevated this look.

I don’t even know where to begin with the creative behind these florals. I have been in this game for a while, and Alexa of August Blooms completely blew me away! As you can see from these insane photos by up and coming photographer @painterofsouls, the flower arrangements Alexa created completely stole the show!

Ok, now I feel bad that it took me to the middle of this post to mention this mama because she was the mastermind behind this entire shoot! MD of Pink Llama Entertainment hand picked this gorgeous group of women to work together on this special day, came up with the theme that inspired the whole look, and also provided her company’s tea set, tables, farmhouse chairs, lace linens, and more to bring it all together! I highly recommend renting items for your next event from MD! She’s adding beautiful bohemian specialty items to her inventory regularly and always keeping up with the latest event design trends!

I thoroughly enjoyed getting the opportunity to play around with these textures and floral patterns in creating this tablescape. It was the absolute perfect way to throw myself back into the events “Side” of things and remind myself exactly what I love most about my job! I get to create beautiful spaces for people to enjoy on their most special days.

What’s a bohemian tea party without a gorgeous tea set and treats? I really can’t say enough about the attention to detail this team of women had together in this shared project, providing ideas along the way such as incorporating actual treats into our tea party shoot …

… and a beyond stunning vintage inspired bar cart too (also from Pink Llama Entertainment)! This floral arrangement Alexa created with this bar cart in mind was my absolute favorite …

… But watching her craft this floral arch on the spot was my favorite part of the entire day! Alexa of August Blooms, you are beyond creative, and I cannot wait to work with you again real soon!

This team did not stop there, I know I am probably not supposed to share secrets from a styled shoot as the purpose is to create gorgeous content for all parties involved. However, the mission of this blog has always been to share what we (Side by Side Design) are a part of and what other creatives we come in contact with are doing, so I feel the need to share! In order to maximize our time and resources of the day, we decided to create one more vignette from the items we had on hand, and I am so glad we did! These photos showcase our abilities as a team to create a gorgeous micro-wedding set up. What a perfect location to be married in! All of these vendors are currently booking for upcoming events and are looking forward to speaking to you about yours today!

As I mentioned, this beautiful bohemian tea party styled shoot was a true collaboration between an amazing group of mama entrepreneurs. Shout out to the team; MD who organized and provided all rentals, Simi who provided the venue for us to set up in, Aris who photographed everything, Alexa who provided fresh and stunning florals, and me (Tami of Side by Side Design). I enjoyed spending the day getting to know each of you and what you do, sharing stories of our little ones at home, and creating the best content for our existing and potential clientele. The sky’s the limit ladies!

We are so excited to once again share our monthly inspiration with all of you! Each month, we look forward to getting the chance to sit down and really think about what’s inspiring us, make predictions for the month ahead, and reflect on the past month. As usual, we have each selected a photo that represents our overall inspiration and have paired it with two interior shots and two events that coordinate with its color scheme and overall concept. In addition, we have provided you with our designer tips to keep you on trend for the month ahead.

Tami’s inspired: What’s keeping us busy on the events “Side” this May? Well, let’s see … a micro-mitzvah, a Cinco de Mayo celebration, a fabulous photo shoot, and a 1st birthday too! Feels like we went from 0-100 in the last month or so, but wouldn’t have it any other way! This flirty skirty inspo pic was one we chose for our photo shoot overall #mood and is also giving me so many Cinco de Mayo vibes when mixed with margaritas and more. Can’t wait to share all that’s coming down the pipeline with all of you!

What’s my designer tip this month? Make magenta and margaritas your #mood this May! Wow, that was a lot of M’s! Go flirty with your new spring wardrobe (now that we are leaving the house again, am I right?) or in your intimate event decor. I am obsessed with the hot pink sugar rim on this margarita, and might just have to find a way to fit it in to an event I plan soon. Let’s talk about bougainvillea … If it grows rampant in your space, consider yourself lucky! Cut a few sprigs for your table when entertaining guests, and it will finish off the look just right.

Lauren’s inspired: When I was given the chance to work on a home in Palm Springs, I jumped at the opportunity! I have always loved the mid century Palm Springs vibe and have longed to do a home in this style for a long time. I will be going out to the desert next weekend to see the home and get this project underway, but I am also excited that we have planned to stay the night and take advantage of this time away. I put together a little ode to Palm Springs as my inspiration with a clean, crisp look welcoming on this new project this month.

What’s my designer tip this month? Add touches of mid century modern to your design! Low, rounded pieces are all the rage right now. Boucle fabrics are where it’s at, and don’t forget to add something whimsical to your space like these hanging chairs or the neon orange glasses.

Here at Side by Side Design, we look forward to an exciting month including all the details from our many May events. We are working on some great remodels right now, and loved sharing photos from an awesome Mother’s Day event we were so proud to be a part of! If you haven’t already checked out our “in a BOX” line (a custom gifting experience) … You should! Don’t forget to visit us for our next Get Inspired post on June 4th for all new looks and inspiration! Also, check out our Instastories @sidebysidedesign to see how we are spreading joy one BOX, one celebration, and one interior space at a time!

With Mother’s Day coming up, everyone’s minds are on what to get mom! Which is why, last week was the perfect opportunity for our friend Azee to host a Mother’s Day Show in her mom Mina Torkian’s honor. It was the most beautiful special day, and we were so honored to be asked to be part of a very exclusive group of mama vendors as well as the group raised over $2,000 dollars to donate to the American Heart Association

Check out all of these incredible ladies on IG: @deseo.designs_, @thesecretbakeshopla, @ridano, @sidebysidedesign, @anitak_randf, @guitzmugs, @alayatea, @lilalive, @elahehborna, @beauty.lovers.la

We are beyond proud of putting this gorgeous table together for this one of a kind show! It was EVERYTHING our dreams are made of … A bit boho, lush florals and linens, and the highest end products with cheeky, playful touches here and there. Each mama guest got a chance to check out our Mother’s Day in a BOX collection and learn more about our interiors + events services! What more could we ask for!

We got to partner with two of our favorite event vendors as well; stunning velvet linen courtesy of BBJ Linen and this floral arrangement by Mulberry Row was to die for! We loved raffling it off at the end of the show to a lucky mama and in support of the Heart Association too!

What can we say … Seeing our in a BOX Mother’s Day collection all laid out like this is still giving us goosebumps! Did you know, our in a BOX “passion project” (as we call it) launched at Mother’s Day last year? I guess, we are celebrating something pretty big, aren’t we? In addition, to being moms ourselves!

There are only a few more days left until Mother’s Day 2021, and we have only a few BOXes and Minis left unclaimed. If you are still in need of a gift for mom (or for yourself, wink) contact us at info@sbsdesignla.com.

Who run the world? Moms! That’s right … and they deserve the very best this Mother’s Day! Our full size BOX (aka I Got It For My Mama), is $175 including LA delivery and is part pampered, part party, and rosè all the way!

With this Mother’s Day collection, came the launch of our official Side by Side Design branded Mini BOXes. They look even better than we could have expected and are beyond high quality and very durable. Each Mini includes a mini bottle of rosè and other items (including candles, candy, cocktail napkins, and stemless wine glasses) can be mixed and matched to fit the recipient in mind.

This team of women is incredible! We truly believe there is nothing they can’t do, and it was such an honor to work alongside them for the day! Their support of each other and drive to be great moms and bad ass business women is inspiring! We can’t wait to work together again soon! Congrats ladies on a successful show!

It’s the end of the month, and we are extremely grateful for all of the design challenges and experiences that have come our way. Today, we continue to show you some of our favorites … 5 things that truly made us happy in the great big world of design this month. This has proven to be a great way for us to share sneak peeks into projects that are in the works (but not quite ready to show in their entirety), flashbacks of projects from the past, and highlight an interior or event vendor that deserves recognition. Enjoy!

#1: This celebration of mothers! Wow, we truly can’t say enough about the feeling of love and support this event we were a part of was filled with! It was an event put together by moms for moms (with mama vendors too) and was in honor of a beautiful soul, Mina Torkian, with donations made to the American Heart Association. We absolutely loved being able to share our Mother’s Day in a BOX collection with the community and seeing what all the other mamas had to offer! Thank you Azee of Deseo Designs for including us! #2: This 3-D rendering! I was so excited to see this 3-D rendering pop up in my inbox this month. We have been working on the plans for a full renovation job in Santa Monica with Michael Poirier of Poirier Design, and I know this house will be a true show stopper with this stairwell being the main focal point. (Written by: Lauren)

#3: This wall treatment! We went back and forth on what we wanted to do to make the walls in this space special. When we really sat down and looked at the inspiration photos we had pulled, they pretty much all had white walls with moldings. So, it seemed like the obvious choice! Our dad, Jackie of Jackie Bitton Fine Woodworking oversaw the full installation and layout for this feature, and I think it turned out stunning! (Written by: Lauren)

#4: This vendor! Using new linens in all different patterns and textures is one of my guiltiest pleasures as an event planner, which is why when I found BBJ Linen I was absolutely hooked! They have such a wide variety to choose from making all my events dreams come true! Check out this stunning pink silk number on an upcoming post about our bohemian tea party set up with the most amazing group of women vendors … Post coming soon! (Written by: Tami)

#5: This sistas brunch! Events that have been on hold for the last year should absolutely be celebrated in a big way, but we decided to celebrate our newest “sista” with a very intimate brunch outdoors (just four of us). Fia Restaurant in Santa Monica was the perfect backdrop to welcome Ashlee (our sister-in-law) officially into the fam. A few special details such as these “B Tribe” tumblers and tiny Mini BOXes with fresh florals created a more personalized tablescape, and truly we just enjoyed each other’s company and getting the opportunity to dine outdoors together. We love you Ash, and even though we have known you for so long, you are now officially one of us. We cannot wait to be part of the wedding you have been waiting for next month in Greece! (Written by Tami)

Follow us on Instagram @sidebysidedesign for more all month long as we share our deliveries and Designer Day! We plan to share our “Favorite Five” for the month of May on the 28th, and as always will be posting what’s inspiring us for the month ahead on the first Friday. See ya soon!
