It’s the end of the month, and we are extremely grateful for all of the design challenges and experiences that have come our way. Today, we continue to show you some of our favorites … 5 things that truly made us happy in the great big world of design this month. This has proven to be a great way for us to share sneak peeks into projects that are in the works (but not quite ready to show in their entirety), flashbacks of projects from the past, and highlight an interior or event vendor that deserves recognition. Enjoy!

#1: This before photo! This kitchen is about to get a full remodel. I met with the clients the other day, and we got lots of decisions made. I don’t even think you’ll be able to recognize it as the same kitchen when it’s done. We are going lighter, brighter, whiter, and all the updates! Stay tuned! #2: This new baby! It’s no secret that black + white are two of our favorite colors. So, when we got the opportunity to create a baby BOX in these tones, I was super excited. Plus, it was for a very special family! I absolutely love how this curated gift came out with its matching shirts for “big sis” and “lil bro”, personalized details, and highest end products and know each item will be useful and loved too! #3: This inspiration! We started not one, but two new projects this month for clients moving into their brand new houses. I put together this inspiration board for one of the families, and I absolutely love how fresh and chic its overall look is. Work started at their house this week, and I am excited to see how it all comes together. (Written by: Lauren)

#4: This vendor! It’s very rare that I walk in a store and find myself speechless, but this happened to me about a week ago at my local Paper Source. Probably because I was completely caught off guard by this new display (seen in the photo above). This is a store I am in pretty regularly purchasing items for our events and custom gift BOXes, but I did not expect to be greeted by actual live flowers. I truly love everything about this new collab between Paper Source x Bouqs, and just putting this out into the universe … would be over the moon to collab with this company in our future! #5: This countdown! Guys, it’s been a minute since we mentioned this big Bat Mitzvah project … but guess what!? The countdown is back on! We set a new date, gave this event a whole new theme with a fresh new look, and we seriously can’t wait to see it all come together! Stay tuned … This one will blow you away! (Written by: Tami)

We are so excited to once again share our monthly inspiration with all of you! Each month, we look forward to getting the chance to sit down and really think about what’s inspiring us, make predictions for the month ahead, and reflect on the past month. As usual, we have each selected a photo that represents our overall inspiration and have paired it with two interior shots and two events that coordinate with its color scheme and overall concept. In addition, we have provided you with our designer tips to keep you on trend for the month ahead.

Tami’s inspired: I can’t begin to express how I feel about starting to get back into planning events that have been on hold for a complete year. I have definitely kept myself busy, and quieter times have pushed me to begin new ventures and grow the business in other ways (focusing on my social media skills, starting our in a BOX line, and so much more). My true love though, is the relationship I build with my event clients while in the process of planning their events. Knowing how they tick and what makes them truly happy allows my creativity to flourish just like the beautiful florals in this #inspo pic. This March, expect to find me in my happy place (wherever my event planning process takes me).

What’s my designer tip this month? Find your happy place! Is it a quiet corner of your home? Make sure to fill that space with art and other accessories that bring joy to your life. Does delicious food and fruity cocktails make you smile? Yes, they do! Surround yourself with people you love, and make sure to do the things that make you happiest too!

Lauren’s inspired: When I asked my husband what the month of March makes him think of, he said “March Madness”, and it just sort of made sense. This last year (starting in March) has been absolute madness. We’ve now made it a full year back to March, and I still feel like we are in this crazy place. Not sure when it’s going to end, but I have decided that there is no time like the present to do something bold that you normally wouldn’t have the guts to do.

What’s my designer tip this month? Try something out of your comfort zone! Add a bold accessory to the mix, a bright color, or a piece of furniture with a funky shape. Might just be what you needed all along!

Here at Side by Side Design, we look forward to continuing to keep it real this month from our homes to yours … We have some new design projects that are just getting started and some that we have been dying to share for quite some time, are in the beginning stages of planning some really out of this world events, and grateful every day for the growth our business is making! BTW, if you haven’t already checked out our “in a BOX” line (a custom gifting experience) … You should! Don’t forget to visit us for our next Get Inspired post on April 30th for all new looks and inspiration! Also, check out our Instastories @sidebysidedesign to see how we are spreading joy one BOX at a time!

As a party planner, I have been anxiously waiting for this day … The one where my daughter expresses interest in her upcoming birthday and selecting a theme! Don’t get me wrong, it’s been really fun the last few years choosing the themes for her (as seen in our previous posts, First Fiesta Birthday Party and A “Two”tti Fruitti Birthday Party), but there’s something about seeing their eyes light up when you create something based on what they love. At three years old, Joie knows all of the names of the animals that live in the sea (ironically she’s allergic to fish), and loves to play “being a mermaid”. I think she picked the absolute perfect party, and creating this for her was magical for me too! Check it out …

In our house, we like to celebrate from the very start to the very end of each birthday. Joie woke up on the day of her 3rd birthday, and we immediately covered her in pink balloons. HBD Big Girl!

A little decoration goes a long way …

… and so does the way you present your party favors! At Joie’s preschool, each kid on their big day gets to bring in a snack for all their friends and a little something to take home. I couldn’t help myself and created these iridescent shell tags to finish off each tiny Mini BOX. Only the best for my girl!

What was inside? An adorable sequined slap bracelet and mermaid tattoos too! For snack, we provided individual bags of Goldfish crackers because who doesn’t love those!?

I set our table up while Joie was at school for a little party (just us)! “Let’s be mermaids” is such a fun theme! For dinner, Joie requested french toast, lots of syrup, eggs, and fruit. I wasn’t gonna complain about that!

In our family, we can’t have a birthday without special treats created by Ashlee of cream + sugar! Aren’t these cupcakes perfection?

This girl is the absolute light of my life! Joie is the sweetest, silliest, most independent three year old around, and I am just lucky to be her mama! Love you to the moon and back Jo! Happy Birthday!
