It’s the end of the month, and we are extremely grateful for all of the design challenges and experiences that have come our way. Today, we continue to show you some of our favorites … 5 things that truly made us happy in the great big world of design this month. This has proven to be a great way for us to share sneak peeks into projects that are in the works (but not quite ready to show in their entirety), flashbacks of projects from the past, and highlight an interior or event vendor that deserves recognition. Enjoy!

#1: This memory! Some things are worth waiting for … It only took two years, but I surprised my husband for our recent anniversary with a special Mixbook full of pictures from our honeymoon in Italy. I absolutely love how both of the books I have made with this awesome site look like fun travel books to have out on our coffee table but are personal, filled with memories, and have a photo I took myself on the cover! What’s our next destination? I really don’t know, but one thing is for certain, I need a third Mixbook to add to our collection! (Written by: Tami)

#2: This modern home! We have officially purchased the first piece of furniture for the big new project I am working on. I’d say that this table is inspiring the whole design for this home, and I am sure you can see why. It is amazing! I feel very lucky to be working on this dream project, and can’t wait to share all of the details with all of you. (Written by: Lauren)

#3: These cheerful flowers! Sunflowers are her favorite, and being the most cheerful flower I can think of, they totally represent the cheerful girl we are planning a party for. The planning for this Bat Mitzvah is in the works; venue set, DJ booked, tons of ideas being thought through. Can’t wait for the day to quickly approach so we can share all the details with you! (Written by: Tami)

#4: This vendor! The news that I am about to share is both happy and sad at the same time. It is time to say good-bye to one of our favorite vendors, Cliques Photo Booth. While I am very excited for owner, Dov, to be pursuing a new business venture and know that whatever he does he will put his heart and soul into and be really good at, I have loved working with him at many of our events. He has been an amazing part of the team on each project adding his own creative flair and expertise. Best of luck to you Dov! We can’t wait to hear where life brings you next! (Written by: Tami)

#5: These accessories! If you are one of our regular readers you know that each of us run one part of Side by Side. Lauren is our interior design extraordinaire and I coordinate all things events. What you may not know is that each of our strengths and what we are especially good at individually sometimes crossover into each other’s sides. We take this as our cue to assist and generally have a hand in each of each other’s projects. On one particular interior project, this is not necessarily the case … This couple just happens to be personal friends of mine and I just really wanted to be included in the selection process of the accessories for their home. So much fun! (Written by: Tami)

We plan to share our “Favorite Five” for the month of October on the 26th, and of course will be sharing what’s inspiring us for the month ahead on the first Friday. See ya soon!

Selecting just the right photos for your wedding album can be a big project to take on, and sometimes can take a while until you get it just right. Speaking of … This one was #twoyearsinthemaking !!! I of course (being the perfectionist that I am), wanted to have a say in the placement of each photo going into our wedding album as well as the layouts of each page, and especially which photos made the cut. From start to finish, I wanted our album to tell the story of this most momentous day and to include each important detail from getting ready, to decor, to the ceremony, and more. I know what you are thinking … It took two whole years?! Don’t worry, I’ve actually had the album for a little while now and have gotten to share it with family and friends, but as last week was our two year anniversary, I wanted to wait until now to share some highlights with all of you.

Although we know that we will forever be able to access the many many digital photos that were taken that day (professional and not), it was still very important to Phil and I to have a printed album to share someday with our kids and pass on to future generations. The cover that we chose is simple and classic (yet modern) just like I like it … You can’t go wrong with black leather!

A full page spread each shows us getting ready! I stayed in that super fun floral silk robe from Lauren as long as I possibly could … It just looked so great in pictures and was comfy too!

We chose our venue specifically for this gorgeous hallway and that crystal chandelier … You better believe I love the photos of our first look most!

A full page here and there was dedicated to really gorgeous photos of Phil and I! This one is so casual yet magazine-worthy!

So much thought and planning went into each detail of our wedding. I included many detail shots too.

It will be so much fun to take this album out someday and look at how much each of our nieces and nephews have grown. Family shots are key!

All events of the night were covered as well including the ceremony, Hora, first dance, speeches, and more. This way we will never forget any part of our special night …

… and we even included a full group pic that we find new faces in each time we browse.

One more special detail of our Garden Glam wedding was our dessert buffet and lounge area. These photos are some of our favorites (especially the ones where we cut the cake).

Happy Anniversary to the love of my life! Two years have truly flown by, but each day has been better than the one before. If you haven’t already, visit the Smashing the Glass blog (click here) to see the full story of our Garden Glam wedding that was published last week. It was truly an honor to be selected and for our story to be shared!

In our Pining For Pinterest posts, we prepare our readers for the upcoming season with interior shots alongside decor and event details in a fresh, new color story and overall look. We don’t know about you, but we are so excited for the beginning of Fall (and it is truly just around the corner) … Spooky scenery, time spent with family, and lots of pie here we come! Please enjoy as we take you through our inspiration for two totally different Fall events in our own distinct styles.

Tami’s Pins: What’s “pin”spiring me this season? A Snow White inspired scene! It’s baby’s first Halloween, and even though they won’t remember celebrating, there will be plenty of stories to tell as they get older. This doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy yourself! Invite over baby’s friends and their parents too for a little trick-or-treating, sweets and sips of tea, and spooky stories to tell in the dark.

Transform your home into this spooky scene. It could be fun all season long!

Grab a seat for story telling and more.

This apple looks too good to eat, but small bites will be appreciated by all your guests before heading out for trick-or-treating.

A cute keepsake and a great way for your guests to find their seats …

… and one more special apple for baby’s first Halloween!

Create a space for a fairy tale inspired photo shoot and all your friends will thank you.

Mama gets dressed up too!

A sweet treat …

… and one more cheers to getting through another special milestone in your baby’s first year.

Lauren’s Pins: What’s “pin”spiring me this season? An ultra modern catered Thanksgiving for all of your closest friends and family! A little bit of tradition, a lot of gold details, and pumpkins galore, but none of this compares to the amazing house it is all being hosted in.

Why have a house this cool if you can’t host in it?

A gold elevator … Why not?

This bathroom is simply exquisite!

A fun twist on tradition. This host pulls out all of the stops with her finest china and tons of gold pumpkins.

Why stop there? Name cards on gold fall leaves anyone? …

… and a little note of thanks for each guest to take as they part.

Oh so chic …

…and I love her arm candy!

Serving only the finest this time of year!

This Fall is our busiest yet, and we are so excited to continue bringing the events “Side” of our business to the next level. We look forward to all that is coming up this season and hopefully using some of this inspiration in our own planning. We would love to work with you in creating the right look this Fall by tying in the inspiration of your event with the essence of your home decor. Contact us at info@sbsdesignla.com for more information.

As an event planner (and personally), I couldn’t be more excited that my Garden Glam wedding was featured this past Monday on the Smashing the Glass blog. I love sharing what I do with future Brides and other vendors in the events industry. Also, it was an added bonus that it went up on my actual anniversary! Here’s a look at what I wrote:
