In our Pining For Pinterest posts, we prepare our readers for the upcoming season with interior shots alongside decor and event details in a fresh, new color story and overall look. Please enjoy as we take you through our Fall inspiration in our own distinct styles.

Tami’s Pins: What’s “pin”spiring me this season? Cozy cranberry hues! I see this board as the perfect opportunity for a young couple to invite their family over for Thanksgiving. As this is the first time they are entertaining the older generation, they want to make their table a bit more modern with some not so traditional details while still staying true to what their family holds dear … good food and being together!

This dining room is the perfect setting for this dinner to take place. I love these cranberry chairs, and the large banquette really softens the look of the room.

fall 35

I love a good bar cart, but a gold one with just the right accessories and florals hits a special spot in my heart.

fall 33

Simple place settings are dressed up with lots of florals in the party’s colors.

fall 40

So, so chic!

A pomegranate infused cocktail will keep all the guests happy.

I love the idea of starting off the meal with this cranberry brie appetizer …

… incorporating cranberries into the salad …

… and why not cover them in sugar for dessert?

Lauren’s Pins: What’s “pin”spiring me this season? Soft blush tones (which have been trending for so long now) but used in an unexpected way. Who says your Halloween decor has to be filled with skeletons, zombies, and the traditional black and orange? A Halloween Bride is just as entitled to be a princess and to have the perfect princess wedding as they are at any other time of the year.

fall 44

I love everything about this living room, from the furry benches to the gold mirror, and I especially love the mix of pillows, soft blush tones, and animal print. Why not?

fall 43

A Halloween wedding needs to be over the top. Sequinned table cloths and over-sized flower arrangements help to achieve this goal.

fall 46

Incorporate lots and lots of candles to set the mood …

fall 42

… and throw in a few pumpkins in the party’s color scheme. You have officially done everything right!

Even her dress is unexpected, a bit over the top, yet still so elegant.

Glassware in a blush hue …

… and the perfect signature cocktail and you have yourself the perfect party.

Now all you need is a cake!

We look forward to all that is coming up this season and even possibly using some of this inspiration in our own planning. In our previous T Side / L Side posts, we have showcased our own personal design styles, the way we decorate for holidays, and we have found many opportunities to relate this concept to cooking as well (some of our favorites seen here and here). These posts help us express our individual cooking needs and are a way of showing how a specific ingredient can be used in two very different ways. This month, we have chosen zucchini as our key ingredient. We have prepared to share how each of us have used this delicious and healthy ingredient along with the recipe (of course) so you can try it at home too!

T Side: When I began sifting through my own personal Pinterest boards for a zucchini recipe to use, I was  pleasantly surprised by how many times I have pinned recipes including this ingredient. It seems there are many many options for meals and side dishes to make with this particular green. I had a hard time deciding between taco stuffed zucchini (until I realized I had made it before and loved it  – seen here), a lush zucchini ribbon salad, and the recipe I chose … grilled zucchini and corn tostadas. This option seemed easy enough and fit in well with the spicy and savory mood I was in. I decided to add shrimp to make it even more filling.

tacos 1

I used this recipe for its ingredients and then improvised on the directions. The shrimp and zucchini were sauteed with our 3 C’s (cumin, curry, and chili powder) and the juice of a lime. I also made mine soft taco style with warmed up tortillas instead of open faced and crispy. They were absolutely delicious!

L Side: Recently, I found a recipe on one of the blogs I follow that I just couldn’t pass up! I am always searching for new dinner ideas that my daughter might actually try and thought these bite-size zucchini pizzas just might do the trick. How can you go wrong with hot tomato sauce and melted cheese on fresh slices of zucchini anyway? I was so happy to find that they were just as good as they looked in Lilyshop’s picture and so fun for the whole family!

To find the recipe I used, follow this link . You will not regret it! The only thing I changed was to omit the pepperoni. I opted to keep them simple and vegetarian for my picky eater.

We are really happy with the way our meals turned out and always excited to get the chance to use a few recipes we find online. What is your favorite thing to make with zucchini? For the past couple of years, we have been creating inspiration boards at the beginning of each month to show what is inspiring us and what we are seeing a lot of in the world around us (whether it be on social media, on other blogs that we enjoy visiting, or the stores we frequent). Each month we select a photo that represents our overall inspiration and pair it with two interior shots and two events that coordinate with its color scheme and overall concept. This particular series has been a favorite among our readers. It is also one we consistently look forward to writing as it allows us an opportunity to reflect on the past month and make predictions for the month ahead. One thing we have noticed is that our readers often comment that they love our inspiration boards, but are not sure from where to get similar items. We always like to take reader feedback into account and figured that this makes perfect sense. So we decided to try out a new feature as part of the Get Inspired series that will take a closer look at something that is inspiring us, providing further information for where to purchase similar items and their range of prices (from super affordable to fancy and one of a kind).

This month, we are totally obsessed with Tami’s indigo inspiration.  This is a trend we have seen all over our Pinterest and Instagram feeds and one we would love to incorporate into our own home decor and event spaces. We have broken this post down into two sections, interiors and events, and have included five items in each section that go along with this color scheme. We have also included a link for each item for your convenience in obtaining each piece. Enjoy!

As we have mentioned in many previous posts (including Styled Vintage Tea Party and Floral Tutorial by Kayla) we have been extremely lucky to work with floral expert Kayla of House of Magnolias. With each new project, she continues to amaze us with her open mindedness to new possibilities in the realm of floral arrangements and how she puts her own spin on things each time. We are excited to welcome her back today with a truly inspirational photo shoot she had the opportunity to be a part of.

Recently, I was lucky enough to be invited to participate in Jordan and Pat’s styled engagement shoot. The shoot was shot by the very talented Jordan Lewis. The couple was styled by Alexandra and Emily, and Jordan rocked some gorgeous pieces from Hannah Frost Jewelry. Not only was Jordan Miller a beautiful Bride-to-Be, but she was also the Hair Stylist.

Sadly, I was unable to travel on location. However, the Bride-to-Be, Jordan gave me some simple guidelines for what they wanted for the shoot.  Boho and chic! I went with a classic and clean color scheme of soft, creamy, and wild greens. We kept the look whimsical. The team added some extra long ribbons for added texture and a boho feel.  We had discussed adding a floral crown into the mix, but I decided that because the bouquet was such a trendy piece that adding another piece like the floral crown might be too much. In the end, the shoot turned out great and the delicate gold pieces Jordan wore in her hair were the perfect addition.

Whenever choosing flowers for your wedding or engagement shoot, it’s important to remember what you want to stand out. We had such amazing dresses and jewelry that keeping the flowers simple but chic really let the whole look come together and let each piece stand out on its own.

One of the first things Tami learned about her boyfriend, Phil, was that he is a lover of steaks. He doesn’t eat them that often, but a good rib eye is just about one of the best things you can gift this guy. Tami was definitely relieved to find out that he also likes to grill them from time to time, as cooking red meat is something Tami has never actually tried. Of course she is always more than willing to partake in the eating (as long as it is not too often)! So, when Phil decided he had to try out a recipe he found, Tami did not object. He was super excited to recreate this You Tube video of one of his favorite chefs, Gordon Ramsay. Here are the steps he took to make this delicious dinner:

Phil’s Tip – If you decide to attempt this at home, watch the video a few times before you begin. This will ensure your steaks are cooked to their maximum potential.

1. Make sure you have all of the right ingredients to season your steaks properly; sea salt and ground black pepper, full cloves of garlic, fresh thyme, and grapeseed oil (If you live in a small space like we do, don’t use olive oil. It will let off too much smoke). You will also need butter and steaks (duh). Phil used New York strip.

steak 3

2. Season both sides of your steaks generously with salt and pepper.

steak 6

3. Oil your pan and sear the steaks on one side.

steak 7

4. Lean steaks on their sides to render the fat on the outer edge (This is specifically for the New York steak).

steak 8

5. Gordon Ramsay says to cook for a minute on either side and continue flipping until the steak is cooked to your desired temperature. Cook with garlic, thyme, and butter.

6. Eat with greens to balance out the heavy flavor of the steaks, and watch the You Tube clip!

Tomorrow happens to be a special day for this steak lover. Tami and Phil will be celebrating with steaks at one of his favorite restaurants. In honor of Phil’s birthday … have a steak! We definitely recommend trying out this recipe. It was amazing. Happy Birthday Phil from Side by Side Design!
